  • Followed by a discussion with Werner Herzog, Moderation: Rainer Rother

In many of his films, Herzog explores the human condition, asking what makes us who we are. In his new film, he explores the realm of human thought. He wants to know: “To what extent are we culturally conditioned, by which ‘theater’, by which stagings do we live?” He asks neurocognition researchers, philosophers and psychologists to this end, visits research institutes and laboratories. Herzog asks: “Will we in the future be able to read films directly from my brain without my having to use a camera?” The director is present as an interviewer, gives his conversational partners room to digress and opens up new perspectives on individual thought.
